Those memories would haunt us for more than what we expect. The outcome of the camp was positive, but was quite different than what I expected.

Our mission can’t be linked with only health in this case. It has to go more at social level. If we want to see the results then we would need to make them think. (Teaching how to fish is better than providing the fish). It may sound a quite a rude statement.. However, I found that those ladies are left with only instinct and have no power to think. I don’t think they are fighters, they are just surviving…. While entering the details in the forms, I had to bend down and go close to each kid’s face. It was so difficult to make them even utter a few words. Very different expressions in their eyes… Idea of giving those eatable to the kid was a masterstroke! Yes — Kids had million dollars smile! Thanks to our Santa (Deven), who on his own, was pampering every kid. He must be the most popular person there! It was almost like giving JADU KI JHAPPI to the kids. His role for the next camps is fixed now.

Regarding the team, less said is better! From start to end, we spent almost 8 hours to handle close to 500 patients. This was impossible without a good team work! People from different walk of life worked together and made the camp successful.
